Nourishing Lives

When people cannot pay rent, need temporary housing, or require emergency medications, we help reduce the stress and pressure by doing what we can to help. Sometimes that means working with the local utility companies or landlords to assist with partial payments of money owed. With financial support from the Yankton Community, we can often provide an overnight stay or two in a hotel for people experiencing homelessness within a 60-mile radius of Yankton. Everyone needs cheer during the holidays, and the Yankton Contact Center provides a holiday food basket for those who sign up. YCC volunteers deliver holiday fruit baskets to those who are mobility impaired. The Yankton Contact Center is the recipient of the Salvation Army Red Bucket collection through the bell ringing of our wonderful volunteers. Nourishment does not always come in a donation of food; the Yankton Contact Center and its volunteers also provide a sense of goodwill and peace of mind.
